Porting a Web application for various servers

Worked on standardizing the web tier of the application to make it deployable on a variety of Web/Application servers.

Converted the application to a standard WAR format, enabling it to conform to J2EE recommendations for web applications. Also made necessary changes to enable it to run on various application servers. (JBoss, Weblogic, WebSphere)

The application initially was only supported on tomcat and not in a WAR format. There was a requirement to port it to the JBoss server. This porting took the most time, since it was the first server to be supported. Subsequently it was also ported to other J2EE servers.
